Certainly a unique way to celebrate Christmas with a view, Great Southern Rail is once again running its Indian Pacific Outback Christmas Train. The event, now in it's 15th year, sees the train journey 4352km from Perth to Sydney - and is a Christmas you won't likely forget!

Along the way are free Christmas concerts at regional town stops including Kalgoorlie, Watson, Broken Hill and Bathurst. This year's concerts are headed up by Chocolate Starfish frontman Adam Thompson, who is mentoring children from local schools and communities to form the Indian Pacific Children's Coir - and the choir will be performing at the Christmas concerts.
And for those who enjoy their Christmas day feast above all else, this year's feast on the Indian Pacific will be treated to a very special experience in Rawlinna, on a remote outpost on the Nullarbor Plain. It will be dinner under the stars with roast Christmas pork, carved whole roasted pork loin, crackling, jacket potato and roasted vegetables in red wine and traditional apple sauce. Dessert will be Christmas pudding with anglaise and vanilla icecream.
Now that's something to add to the wishlist - this year or next!
